Get to know me

My passion for understanding the mind started early, when I was growing up in a house filled with philosophical books, in a family keen on deep conversations.

I decided I want to be a psychologist in my early teenage years and consequently worked towards that dream, eventually becoming a student at the psychology department of the University of Warsaw. I especially enjoyed courses on clinical psychology and chose a specialisation in psychotherapy, completing a Master’s degree and graduating with distinction in July 2013.

Parallel to my psychology education, I developed a deep passion for yoga. Not only my master’s thesis included research on the psychological effects of yoga and its therapeutic benefits, but also my first job as a psychologist at OPiS in Warsaw allowed me to combine psychological counselling with relaxation and yoga courses for patients.

It was an invitation from a yoga school in Lucerne that brought me to Switzerland. I had never dreamed of an expat life, but the Swiss way of living appealed to me enough that I changed my career plans and settled in Lucerne. I kept deepening my knowledge in a number of courses, learning about Dance Movement Therapy, Positive Neuroplasticity and balancing the nervous system through mindfulness and yoga. I opened a yoga studio where I worked with clients’ bodies and minds in group courses and individual consultations. Living abroad and working with expats opened my eyes to challenges people encounter while integrating into a new culture.

My interest in the mind-body connection led me to the topic of trauma and its effects on the nervous system. I’ve decided to go back to school and attended an extensive course on Psychotraumatology.

During that time I joined the Swiss Federation of Psychologists (FSP) and opened a psychology practice to work with clients experiencing different emotional, relational and professional difficulties.

I believe my background in both academic psychology as well as body-based and mindfulness practices gives me a possibility to see different aspects of mental health and to work with people in a holistic way.
